Schizophonia - Soundliegen am 28. Stuttgarter Filmwinter - Festival for Expanded Media.

15.1.2015 - 18.1.2015 jeweils von 15.00h - 19.00h im Kunstbezirk Stuttgart.

The artist and stage designer Séverine Urwyler collects Soundscapes of collective emotions and transfers the acoustic expression directly under the skin. In Schizophonia, she stages the space inside the visitor's body. By way of direct contact with the membranes - in the form of exciters -, the space inside the body turns into a sounding and reverberating body in which sound can be experienced physically.
The visitor is welcomed on a massage bed equipped with 32 exciters which are then arranged on the visitor's body by the artist. Conditioned by the body's anatomy, they can now be perceived with various levels of intensity. Schizophonia is a mental movie: its not the eyes transporting the images into the body but its the image created on the inside while lying on the sound bed.
